The Grands Feux event is a not-to-be-missed annual opportunity to experience the spirit of La Borne. Professional discussions around the wood-fired kilns bring together ceramists from all around the world, seasoned professionals and beginners of all ages alike. Loading the kilns, firing and unloading them in public take place in and around the village. The works on show are open to all and reflect the diversity of traditional and contemporary ceramic techniques, be they sculptural or utilitarian. Interest in ceramics has grown exponentially in recent years, and this unique event is constantly broadening its impact. To mark the 10th edition of the event, from 19 to 27 October 2024 the Ceramics Association of La Borne and the Contemporary Ceramics Centre have put together an extensive programme of events, including workshops, exhibitions, seminars, round-table discussions, film screenings and practical workshops for people of all ages.
