Claude Voisin

After a life spent in the theatre and dance and a career in architecture, Claude Voisin began experimenting with sculpting in the 2000s. He works essentially from clay slabs that he bends, assembles, curves, and distorts in the pursuit of dynamics and movement. His pieces are fired at low temperature, raku style, or treated with various types of smoking. His creativity appears almost compulsive in wanting to explore every possible form of sculpture. He brings together very different areas of research confronting simple forms, flatness of colour, proportions, rhythms, materials…He also makes creations using four hands, associating ceramics with other materials.
